Cheshire Area Show 8-11-2008

My thanks to Pat and Dorothy for their kind invitation to judge at this happy show. I hope I did not disappoint too many exhibitors as the “judge change” for Medammes Greens, Higgins, Kalal, Potter and Stevenson today. My thanks to Ally Williams for being a super steward and available on a day’s notice! It was lovely to spend a whole show with you Ally!

Class 632 AV Foreign Non-Breeders Adult

1st Mr & Mrs Copley’s CH NEMOREZ TRESBEAU FEMME 68 43g Full Expression Blue Tortie Shaded Tiffanie, F, 10-03-2006

A very appealing girl. Large and lustrous pale yellow eyes set well apart with correct shape: lovely expressive slant to upper lids and fully rounded lower lids. Ears are of good size for her head, wide at the base and rounded tips with streamers but not tufts and set well apart across a gently rounded head. Short wide wedge tapering to a blunt muzzle finish with a level bite, in profile her head shows a good depth, rounded brow, good nose break with a straight nose, jaw of reasonably good depth set in correct plane to nose tip. Medium sized body is of very good weight, strong chest and straight back. Legs are in proportion to her body with spoon shaped paws and correctly taller hind legs. Tail is just short to balance, of medium thickness and tapers to a paint brush finish. She was a mid toned blue with creams mingling well into her coat set against a pale beige background. Heavily shaded with M to forehead and a scarab evident but no thumb prints to ears, a diffused broken necklace, her mantle descends well down her body, she has stripes on both fore and hind legs, her spine line descends down her tail to a solid tip. Her coat was silky and of a very fine semi longhair texture; she had minimal ruff and plume today, no toe tufts either. A very bossy chatter-box of a character who had her say all the time we handled her!

2nd Miss Bradley’s CH KAMEHAHD TICKETY BOO, 72 45 FULL Expression Black Standard Ticked Tabby Asian Short Hair, F, 21-09-2005

A pleasing girl. Large and lustrous rich amber eyes framed by lovely black rims, set well apart and have correct shape; good slant to nose in upper lids and full rounded lower lids. Her ears are of good size for her head, wide in the base with rounded tips without tufts but set well part on her gently rounded head – which could be broader for perfection. She has a short wide wedge which tapers well though she did occasionally puff out her whisker pads today, has a level bite. Her profile shows a head of good depth, rounded brow acceptable nose break, straight nose, slightly shallow jaw but set in correct plane to the end of her nose. Medium size body has good weight, rounded chest and straight back. Her legs are proportionate to her body with dainty oval paws and taller hind legs. Her medium thick tail balances to her shoulder and tapers well to a paint brush tip. Her rich coppery under coat is very pleasing against her bands of black ticking (mostly 3 bands) which descend well down her body. She has thumb prints to her ears, M to forehead, a scarab, spectacle lines, a broken necklace, stripes to legs and tail, with good solid hocks to her hind legs, a spine line down her tail which meets a solid tip. Her coat has a super texture, soft and silky and lies very close to her body with super sheen to it. She was a little apprehensive but handled well – a very sweet natured girl.

Not long adult and in fact I see I handled her at her last kitten show – a very attractive girl! Excellent large and lustrous pale yellow eyes that had a super expression being set well apart with superb shape such expressive upper lids and well rounded lower lids. Ears of good shape and size for her head, wide at the base and rounded at the tips set wide across her gently rounded head. She had a short wide wedge that tapers well to a blunt finish and a level bite. In profile a head of good depth, rounded brow, her nose break could be more defined for perfection but is adequate, straight nose line and jaw of good depth set in correct plane to her nose tip. Her medium sized body although still developing is of very good weight for her size belaying very good muscling, rounded chest and straight back. Legs have spoon shaped paws and are taller in the hind are in proportion to her body. Her tail balances well to her shoulder, tapers to a paint brush end and has very good shape. The pristine silver rather darkened her Burmese colour restriction brown, she has thumb prints to her ears, an M to her forehead, a scarab and spectacle line, 2 broken necklaces 2 - 3 bands of ticking which descend well down her body and is developing well, she has a few stripes to her forelegs and solid hocks to her hind legs, her spine line is diffused on her back but defined on her tail and reaches a solid tip. Her medium length coat is soft and silky and lies well to her body. She was rather wriggly today but was a very sweet natured girl none-the-less.

2nd Mrs McRae’s EMAUS CHANCE OF MESKHENET, 76 30, F

A very pleasing Mau! Wonderful gooseberry green eyes set beautifully giving a very worried expression! Super ears set very well apart on a mature head, slightly shallow chin but a level bite. Well grown body of super weight. Her pattern was at its best and most defined when viewed from a distance; made up of smaller spots on the whole that occasionally merged but was most attractive with pristine silver and quite dark charcoal spots & markings. She had spectacle lines, scarab, thumb prints to ears super pattern well descended down from her neck. Solid hocks to her hind legs and tail rings. Very pleasing exhibit!

3rd Ms E Stark’s DUSHENKA XARIABELLA, 16a, F

Class 636 AV Foreign Limit Adult

1st Mrs & Miss Pontello’s PONTABY SOGNASTELLA, 23, F,

A rather gorgeous girl but too upset to come out of her pen though she did let me handle her in the pen. Super rich deep coppery background with clearly defined ticking, a broken necklace, small hocks on hind legs. Just a lovely balanced head; gently rounded brow, moderate wedge, rounding to muzzle, with super eyes which were very expressive, wee dip to profile and lovely expressive ears, firm chin – not happy for me to check her bite. Her tail balanced and was free of faults it was impossible to assess much more due to her displeasure and my valuing my fingers.

Class 639 AV Foreign Radius Adult

1st Mrs Hawkins’ GR CH SAWATAO ARIANNAIDDWEN, 34, F

Gorgeous was my first impression of this girl in her pen – she has such wonderful large eyes like Mercedes head lamps that illuminated her face so well! Lovely shape to her face head on – clearly the double heart effect. Her chin had good depth but receded slightly but she had a level bite. Her body was compact but very weighty with good muscle tone evident. Super elegant limbs and neat paws, her tail balanced. Very deep blue tone to her coat and silvering is showing nicely. Very pleasing exhibit. Shown in super condition.

3rd Mr Thomas’ THOMSTAR ILOVELUCY, 76 30, F

Class 644 AV Foreign Non-Breeders Kitten

1st Miss H Newton’s SIMPLYREDS HELEN OF TROY, 84 16, F

Just rather wonderful – a regal blue veined hue to this wonderful Sphynx! She might well be the cat that launches a thousand ships ... Wonderful head, amazing frown lines to her forehead on her flatten top as my steward quite rightly pointed out like as Astrakhan hat. She also had strong cheek bones, pronounced whisker pads and a rounded muzzle. Straight nose, strong chin and good plane between both. Large ears and super large expressive eyes. Medium elegant body of good muscle tone, strong chest and straight back. Lovely whippy tail. Covered by the finest regal-blue down imaginable apart from the extra fluff to the lowest part of her ears which is permissible. Super well grown girl, very confident and very affectionate – my steward who has never met the breed before fell in love on picking her up! A very pleasing kitten who would have fitted quite nicely in my pocket.

2nd Mrs H J Kelsall’s PONTABY LUCIANA, 23, F

Most unlucky to meet the winner today in two classes! A very neat cat, super coppery background colour. Elegant head type; moderate wedge, rounded muzzle, level bite, rounded brow, large ears set well apart and body which was lithe but muscular. Super ticking and clearly defined facial markings: M to forehead, scarab, spectacle lines, solid spin line to a solid tip on her tail. Lovely profile and broad muzzle. Her tail balanced well – what a shame she was so grumpy!

Extra 2nd Ms Dunstall’s COLDENUFFORSNOW XANTHE, 83aw, F

Super confident girl who was full of the joys and another big hit with my steward! Medium sized head in proportion to her solid body, having a broad wedge with rounded contours, top of head was rounded nicely and forehead beginning to flatten, straight nose, firm chin and level bite. Alert ears which were a good sized for her head and broad at the base. Beautiful shade of blue to eyes, which were of good shape and set. Super muscling and firmness to medium sized body which was much heavier than her dainty appearance belayed. Legs of good length with oval paws. Tail balances well was medium thick at the base tapering to a rounded end. Coat was quite short, having good texture and healthy glossy sheen to it. Super pattern with absolutely minimal white covering on her paws which did not ascend up her leg and small white triangle on her face. Pleasing soft blue tone points with the lightest bluish white to rest of her body. A super baby.

3rd Miss Aggett’s MAGICAL FROG PRINCE, 33a 40 12w, M

Extra 3rd Mrs Russell’s CAMACOONA VALENTINO, 34c, MN

Class 646 AV Foreign Novice Kitten

1st Mrs Kay’s SITHEE SASSY SAFFRAN, 16a, F

A rather wonderful young Russian - super head type and angle developing nicely. Ears stand correctly tall and are set well, between a flat top of head, good almond shaped eyes, colour is still developing with more yellow than green at present. Good short wedge, strong chin and level bite, chin level to nose. Very elegant body what an impressive coat for such a youngster – left the imprint of my hand in it; my steward though it was a luxurious as her brand new carpet! Her coat is mid blue at present with silvery sheen coming along nicely, there were ghost markings to her tail other wise very clear.

2nd Miss Aggett’s MAGICAL FROG PRINCE, 33a 40 12w, M

What an adorable wee man – such a happy little soul who purred away for us the whole time! His had very promising head type, super wide muzzle, good width between his overly large ears (his head will grow but they are just so cute anyway!) and quite flat top of head already. Super width to his cheeks and a good strong stop, jaw a little shallow – imagine my horror at finding his bite not level today which was confirmed by the duty vet who felt it might be a developmental stage and be due to teething – let’s hope so. Wonderful kitten-fat little body; simply edible! He was covered all over with baby rex coat, but only had down across his top of his head, neck, shoulders and upper back. Could have wasted the whole day with him! I hope to see more of our little Frog Prince as he develops. Super wee chap!

3rd Mrs Jones’ GLITTERGLAM KATANA 76 30, F

Class 648 AV Foreign Limit Kitten

1st Mrs Kay’s SITHEE SASSY SAFFRAN, 16a, F (see previous)

2nd Mrs Russell’s CAMACOONA VALENTINO, 34c, MN

Very well grown young man! Lovely head type, broad head, good ear set, heart shape there when viewed head on, but wedge was marginally long, he has a stop in his profile and a strong chin. Golden coloured eyes which are very large. Very well grown body for his age which was marginally cobby, strong proportionate legs with oval paws. Tail of good length, which was rather thick at the base, but tapering to a rounded tip. Very attractive shade of lilac – rich and yet very warm. A charming youngster who was happiest in his pen; shown in excellent condition.

Class 656 AV Foreign Maiden Neuter

1st Mrs Newman’s AMIGAMIA BIGFOOT, 76 30, MN

Super temperament! Coat somewhat woolly today but dense. He had a suitably small head, with eyes that were essentially green with an outer yellow rim, broad wedge, high cheek bones, gentle profile curve, strong chin and level bite. Clear pattern with good colouration. Strong solid body, long and sleek, strong legs with round paws. Medium tail with rounded end.

2nd Mrs Nugent’s INAHOI SNOWJEM, 76b 30, FN

Unfortunately this cats had truncated ears and a truncated tail which the duty vet confirmed to be fault. She also had somewhat of a pronounced nose break and had type more reminiscent of a Burmese apart form her very short ears. She had pale blue eyes and a lovely pattern with very attractive colouration though. A sweet girl who handled well.

Class 658 AV Foreign Junior Neuter

1st Mrs Newman’s AMIGAMIA BIGFOOT, 76 30, MN (see previous)

2nd Mrs Fielding’s NORDIQUESTAR SUPERSHADOW, 76 30, MN

This cat had exceptionally large ears on an other wise balanced head, broad wedge, high check bones, gentle profile curve, slightly puffed out whisker pads, strong chin, giving a suitably wild look. Well shaped and set eyes. Long strong and muscular body. His pattern was exceptionally dark; intense rich coppery background. Unfortunately he did not want to come out of his pen and was not as relaxed as the winner.

3rd Miss Humphries WOTMORE TRICOLORE 76 20, MN

Class 660 AV Foreign Radius Neuter

1st Mr & Mrs Penny’s PR HOADHILL FUNTIME FRANKIE, 76 30, MN

Rather attractive boy who enjoys being handled! Medium sized head compared to his body but what excellent head type, medium wedge, high check bones, concave curve between bridge and nose leather, large broad nose, very full muzzle, strong chin, thick muscular neck. Medium ears, short and wide, light furnishings. Round eyes slanting to ear base, green in colour. Long substantial body robust and large showing good depth to flank. Strong legs and large rounded paws. Thick medium tail. Short coat. Excellent pattern with superb rufus giving a strong and vibrant orange ground. Very pleasing exhibit – striking patter and charming temperament.

2nd Mrs Newman’s AMIGAMIA BIGFOOT, 76 30, MN (see previous)

3rd Mrs Fielding’s NORDIQUESTAR SUPERSHADOW, 76 30, MN (see previous)

Class 661 AV Foreign Visitors Neuter

1st Mrs Kemp’s PR NATZKATZ IRISH-CREAM, 72 43nsq, MN, 28-06-2005

Rather stunning as ever! Super expression to his large and lustrous pale golden eyes, set well apart and have super shape, well defined slanting line to upper lids and fully rounded lower lids. Ear of good size and shape, wide at the base with round tips having tiny tufts. His head has a short but very wide wedge which is most pleasing, it taper well to a blunt muzzle and has a level bite. His profile shows a skull of very good depth, rounded brown, good nose break, straight nose, jaw of good depth and set in correct plane to his nose end. Medium body is still growing but of good weight with a strong chest and straight back. Medium sized legs with oval paws and correctly taller hind legs. His tail balances and tapers well to a paint brush tip showing good shape. His warm lilac base caramel is beginning to clearly show hints of metallic tone around the back of his head and around his paws it contrasts well with his silver background. He is lightly shaded and his mantle descend well down his body, he has faint thumb prints to his ears, an M to his forehead, a scarab, spectacle lines and broken necklace a good spine lien which carries along his tile to a solid tip. His coat is very clear, his legs appeared free from smudges and stripes though he does have solid hocks to his hind legs. His coat was very soft and silky in text lying close to his body. Shown in excellent condition and handle well, even cuddled up with a big purr despite the efforts of an extremely fractious Bengal kitten who seemed determined to upset all the cats in the isle.

2nd Mrs Tams’ POOLSIDE CHEEKY RASCAL, 33a 30bs, FN

Very unlucky to meet the winner today – a super girl who handled well. Lovely head type, large well set ears which were wide at the base, flat top of head, wide at the cheeks, super muzzle with a good profile break only let down by a shallow chin – but had a level bite. Super expressive shape to her eyes, really evil slant to upper lids and fully rounded lower lids – excellent! Her strong muscular body medium in build was very well covered with a dense rex coat. She handled quite well but was happiest in her pen. Nice limbs and tail. A very pleasing exhibit.
